I don't want to go through the motions
I don't want to live one more day without Your all-consuming passion inside of me
I don't want to spend my whole life asking "What if I had given everything instead of going through the motions?"
Perfectly describes me right now. I feel a new sense of boldness and clarity...Like, I feel like I can just see things for what they really are a little better right now. I don't really care if people think I'm weird...I just want people to know Christ because I know what He can do in their life if they'll just let Him. I want to love people even if they hate me. That's living.
I was talking to my band tonight about all this and it hit me that when we're faced with an opportunity to step out of our comfort zone to do something good for someone, we are at the same time choosing between "going through the motions" and really living life. Have you ever been confronted by a homeless person. What did you do? Because I can tell you, I've reacted both ways. I've walked on by, making every excuse in the world as to why I shouldn't bother. And I've stopped for some conversation and given money or bought food. Which one do you think made me feel like I was living life?
We all go through dry spells, spiritually speaking. But I believe that if we just spend more of our life stepping out of our comfort zones to help people and be a more confident in our God, we'll experience true living. It's a rush too! It's exciting!
Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." The Message version says it this way, "I came that they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of."

Good gracious, Living Differently.
God is working through you to change hearts. Your encouragement to make behavioral changes, to stand out, and not just go through the motions will help christians new and old live up to the life God has created in them. You may think you have a long way to become more like Jesus, but remember becoming Christlike is a progressive experience. The more closely we follow Christ, the more we will be like him. You are setting a great example of adoration and dedication to our savior. Keep it up and you will lead many people in becoming spiritually mature.
