Striving to live a life less-ordinary. As a follower of Jesus, I can't help but feel that
the life of the average church-goer doesn't line up with the teachings of Scripture. Our lives should not look like everybody elses. We should be more giving, more loving, more passionate, more sure, more...um...radical. It's my belief that when we live the way Scripture teaches, we stick out. Not that we're trying too...just that it's natural when we follow God instead of the world. But it seems like most Christians DON'T stick out. Why is it that we hear stories like those of Jim Elliot or Mother Teresa and applaud them for their boldness because it stirs something in us, yet we go on with our mundane average lives acting like everyone else around us. Were they radical? Not really. They were just living our their faith...no matter how it looked to the world. That's what I want my life to be. I want God to direct my life, not society. And that means I'll probably appear to be a bit radical. Maybe even odd. And I'm okay with that.
I've got a long way to go...
This blog is my journey toward that goal. My prayer is that it helps me sort out my thoughts, that it keeps me focused on what I need to be focused on, and that it will spark some discussion and build community. So please respond and comment! Some days I may get really deep...other posts may be absolutely pointless. :O) But I want to keep this thing going on a nearly daily basis, so keep checking for new posts!
Join me in my pursuit of a "radical" life!

Hey Jeremiah,
I love that you are doing this. God does incredible and yes, radical things thru those who are willing to step out and be bold in their faith. I encourage you to be strong; more often than not you will appear to the world as foolish. And thats okay. Following the acts of Christ would be foolish for someone who does not know there is more than this world.
God has amazing works to do thru you. Get ready for the ride of your life!
